On my recent trip to Chicago, I was on the lookout for something to include for Skywatch Friday.
Can any locals tell me what that dark water-towery-looking thing is? Here it is close up and heavily lightened. It is on the north side of Randolph Street, several streets east of Wacker and west of State.
Nice Chicago skyline.
ReplyDeleteThe first one is my favourite! Very good.
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot of Chicago's skyline, well done.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend

I'm not a local but is it an old water tank?
ReplyDeleteAwesome skyline! Yes, it looks like a water tank to me too.
ReplyDeleteEscape pod?
ReplyDeleteMonica, I love those water tanks...cisterns! It's funny I took similar shots of them when I was in Chicago...it's a beautiful skyline! gail
ReplyDeleteI don't know but nice skyline! Enjoy this glorious weekend, Monica (we've waited so-o long!)
ReplyDeleteI'm with the others, I think it is just an old water tower. A lot of times they just get left up, even though they're no longer used.
ReplyDeleteBy the way - over at Tina's you were bemoaning the groundhogs that get your tulips. We have gophers here which are just as hungry. I plant my tulips in pots; it also worked for me when I put tulips where I don't water in summer (they hate it anyway) and sprayed the ground with castor oil spray.
Yep, that's an old water tank. There used to be a lot more of them, on almost every roof in River North. Now they're an endangered species.
ReplyDeleteSuper skyline from Chicago. Smashing old water tank too.
ReplyDeleteNice skyline in the Windy City! You took some great shots!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a Moominhouse to me! (If you don't know the Moomintrolls, they are the wonderful creations of author and illustrator Tove Jansson. Fantastic books - well worth reading!!)
ReplyDeleteNice job! You have the eagle eye! :-)
ReplyDeleteAn Interesting skyline and mystery object Monica.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to the windy city, but the weather looked really nice...
ReplyDeleteMonica good captures of Chicago! Did you see ms. O.?
