About Monica Milla, the Garden Faerie

Monica's Full Biography (PDF file)

Monica Milla, the Garden Faerie, has been a passionate gardener for well over a decade. She enjoys teaching adult enrichment classes, giving gardening talks, and advising people on what to grow in their gardens, as well as occasionally gardening for clients.

Monica is an advanced master gardener and a master composter. She has researched, designed, and planted a garden for cats at a feline retirement community and an 1860s fountain garden for the Cobblestone Farm historic property.

Monica has also tended gardens for clients and stewarded a native plant garden. She has served on the Editorial Advisory Board and Volunteer Committee at Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum.

Monica has written many gardening articles and the book Fun with Winter Seed Sowing. She also authors two blogs. Full Bloom is published twice a week through MLive (Advance Newspapers) and covers gardening tips, plant info, gardening events, and trips to gardens and garden centers. Garden Faerie's Musings is her personal blog, also primarily about gardening, which often shows what's in blooming in her garden.

To contact Monica to speak to your group, teach a class, or provide gardening advice, please send an email.
