Monica Milla, the Garden Faerie, has been a passionate gardener for 20 years. She enjoys teaching adult enrichment classes, giving gardening talks, and advising people on what to grow in their gardens, as well as performing hands-on gardening for clients.

Monica is an advanced master gardener and a master composter. She has researched, designed, and planted a garden for cats at a feline retirement community and an 1860s fountain garden for the Cobblestone Farm historic property.

Monica has stewarded a native plant garden for NAP, and served on the Editorial Advisory Board and Volunteer Committee at Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum. She currently volunteers for Project Grow Community Gardens and the Kempf House Victorian garden.

Monica has written many gardening articles and the book Fun with Winter Seed Sowing. She also authors a personal garden blog as well as one for annarbor.com, and recently started writing for Michigan Gardening magazine.
